110 kV Double-Circuit Transmission Line Bilice – Trogir

With an approximate length of 42 km, the 2x110 kV Bilice – Trogir transmission line is one of the most significant power lines constructed in Croatia in recent years. Its construction has increased transmission capacity and improved network reliability in central Dalmatia. Owing to its importance for the integration of existing and planned wind farms and other renewable energy sources into the grid, the project was co-financed with European funds under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.

The line was built on double-circuit lattice steel towers, equipped with standard aluminium-conductor steel-reinforced (ACSR) conductors, glass cap-and-pin insulator strings, and optical ground wire (OPGW). A particular challenge was meeting the strict environmental protection requirements and complying with the Croatian Civil Aviation Agency’s regulations regarding the safety of Split Airport.
